Rhino Orphanage

Fantastic Franschhoek Fundraiser
Dancing, dining and donations were the order of the day at the annual Poached Rhino ball in February. Guests were treated to a tantalizing dining experience; whilst dancing to the ever popular ‘Uncorked’ certainly aided the digestion and encouraged the crowd to dig deep. A spectacular total of R350,000 was raised during the evening, thanks in part, to some rather special auction prizes provided
Project 3 – up and running
We now have all the fencing and security in place. We were very fortunate to be able to visit the new site, which can ‘house’ up to 60 rhinos. It is also a rhino orphanage – please see pictures and details of how you can help………….sustain these beautiful creatures. Adopt and name a rhino available on request. Spread the word…
Poached Rhino Funding………….FAQ’s
When the trustees go to visit and stay at any of the projects – where does the money come from? All visits, travel, accommodation and expenses are funded from the trustees own pockets and not from the charity. You say 100% of donations go directly to the cause – how is this possible? All trustees, patrons, ambassadors in the UK & SA are volunteers so no one gets paid.
Great news – Project 3 (Rhino Sanctuary) is underway
An inner fence and outer fence are being totally rebuilt to protect Orphans and ‘survivors’ from the heinous crime of poaching. It will be a full security complex with drones, motion detectors, CCTV, APUs, dogs etc to protect the wonderful but endangered South African Rhino. We will send more information and updates soon. Project 3 – REF: TMGF/50
Project 3 is a huge project and is all about helping to protect ’50 rhinos’ via two innovative fences with high tech security. Many of these rhinos are orphans (babies) and the others are ” survivors” from the poaching atrocities that are committed on a daily basis in South Africa.
